On October 22, 2009 at the SIS Lounge in American University-- 4400 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC -- from 12:30pm to 2:00pm, Cognoscenti Management will be managing their latest Kanissa Conference Forum entitled, "The Way Forward for Democratic Republic of Congo". During the forum, honorary panelists will discuss issues regarding the future of the DRC now that the international community is now showing interest, and will aim to answer questions such as: "How has the arrest of Laurent Nkunda affect the push towards ending war in the Congo?", "Will military assistance to the Congo via Africom be used to nurture the new democracy or help establish a growing dictatorship in the Congo?", and "What will result from the visits from political figures such as Susan Rice and Hilary Clinton?". The forum will aim to provide for a platform to build awareness about the conflict in the
Event Panelist, Author, Scholar and Activist- Charles Onana of Paris, France will be flying in from Canada to be involved in this significant dialogue and will be displaying information about his most recent book. Thomas Turner, author of The Congo Wars (2006) and Country Specialist on DRC for Amnesty International USA, will be joining the discussion. The final panelist is a passionate activist and the current President of Dignity Congo, Edgar Senga.
